Coloibuh, Ga., September 16.— Another murder has lieen added [ to the list in Harris county by the ‘ death of Tillman Street, colored, from wounds inflicted by his wife last week, and the murderess was safely lodged in Hamilton jail yes terday. Tillman was a steady young fellow, who farmed nea’r Wavcrly Halt. ' About twelve months ago while visiting this elty lie became infatuated with a dusky cyprian, married her and carried her baok with him to his cabin In the quiet confines of Wavcrly Hall. Savannah, September IT.—The Senatorial convention of this (the first) district convened at Eden j again at noon yesterday. After the j T20tb ballot was taken it became apparent that no nomination could be made on that day, aud an ad journment was made to meet in Savannah at noon to-day. The counties of Bryan nnd Effllngbam protested strongly at thla removal of the convention, but Chatham having a majority of the votes, snn- ceeded in carrying It through. Chathnui has six votes and Bryan and Effingham each two. It re quires a two-thirds vote to nomi nate, and Chatham has to get one vote more.
