We have a “real live” railroad to
this place now, tlieic was a smash
up yesterday ‘just as natural,’ caus
ed by tiic cab coming in contact
with a cow. Xo one was hurt
much, a negro fell on a stump but
struck it with his head flrst, quin
scoontly his life was saved—the
slump wus splintered. The acii
dent delayed the passenger train
until 3:30 o’clock. Our train con
nects with the up and down passen
ger day trains.
Our cotton market has opened
in good earnest, about fifty bales
were received yesterday. The price
is causing several to hold their
cotton, hoping to get ten cents per
pound.

The hoys made the s nvil ring out
last night. Tho independent dodge
did not work worth a cent, also the
poll tax alildavit proved a measly
failure. The people liavo said
what rotation is, so I hope there
will be no misunderstanding in the
future. VVitli a railroad and a
Senator we ought to be happy.
