On Sunday the managers of the telephono offices in Mtoan and Montgomery connected instru ments with the telegraph wires and made an experiment of conversing between the two cities by telephone. Manager Ingram conneuted bis in- strum ml with the wire at ibis oily uhd quite a number of our citizens conversed with the citizens of both .Macon and Montgomery, sad every word was as distinct as though tliA parties had not been more than a Hundred yards apart. Those in the otllce here could alto hear the con versation between Macon and Montgomery will, equal distinct ness. The experiment proved a perfect success.
