Stribling's victory over Sailor Martin at Miami Monday night brought the stock of the schoolboy up about 100 per cent in the esti mation of local fight fans in his fight against McTigue. Engineering drawings of the stadium, which will be especially arranged for the fight, have been completed here and will be sent out to the leading papers of the state and South for publication Sunday morning. This diagram will show the arrangement of all ringside, re serve section and general admis sion seats. It will only show a one-half»section of the Driving Park but the remainder of the seat ing capacity can be so arranged as to give the twenty thousand seat capacity in the big wooden bowl should it be necessary. Macon, Fort Benning and Colum- bus have reserved three sections of the ringside seats of seven hundred and fifty seats each; the remain ing section is being sold first come —first served. These seats are sell ing at $5.40 (war tax included); the resolve section at $3.50 and genral admission, $2.20. Mail or ders are. now beign filled by Major J. After a stroke has been played, even though the club did not come into contact with the ball, which rolls from a tee, it is not possible to re-tee the ball because it is in play and must be played from its lie. Only when a ball falls or is knocked from the tee while a player is in the act of addressing it, has the player the right to re tee same. Is impermissible for a player to remove a loose impediment that is lying in front of his ball, re gardless of, the distance that it may be from same? Does it make a difference whether the ball is through the green or on the green as to' the removal of a loose impediment? Through the greln a player has a right to remove loose impedi ments that do not lie farther than a club length from the’ ball. If it is a greater distance than a club length he cannot remove same, unless it is on the putting green. A player is always within his rights in removing any loose im pediment from the putting green that he feels will interfere with his next shot, whether his ball is on the green or not. Do stymies apply in four-ball matches? Stymies do not apply in four ball matches. In a four-ball match wheh on the putting green any player can have any other ball lifted or played, at the op tion of its owner. It seems as though they are started on the road to a successful season. This is Mr. Waller’s first year at the Americus A. & M. school, but it seems from the way things have started that he is going to make things hum at the A. & M. this year. Practice started about a week ago. The team is looking good and it is hoped that by the time the first game is played they will be in mid-season form. There are several letter men back this year, among whom are Goat Simmons, Country Park, Steven Snyder, Earl Dasher, Jim Bryan and Thad Bell. These com bined with a likely looking bunch of new men should prove to be a formidable grid iron machine. Among the new men are: Branch of Ashburn; Bobbie Moore and Blondie Youngblood, of Douglas; Slew-Foot Bradley, of Leslie; Ernest Hogg, of Buena Vista; Henry Morrison, of Ellaville; Hot- Shot Whatley, of Reynolds; Har ry Jacobs, of Americus; Joe Car ter, of Columbus; John and Ernest Minims, of Beechwood; James Col lins and Willie Gray, of Camilla, and sevral others who bid fair to become good players. The schedule has not been com pleted. They play Douglas A. & M., Tifton A. & M., Norman Park, Sparks College, and Columbus Hi. Besides these there are other games to be scheduled and the foot ball fans of Americus are assured of a good schedule. It is hoped that they will lend their hearty co-operation toward making this the best year that the school has ever known. The' first game will be played here about the 28th of this month. More definite information will be given at a later date. but not nearer the hole. Player drives from the tee. The course taken by his ball makes it seeni: that he has gone out of bounds. Upon reaching his ball he discovers that it is lying just within bounds. The position of the ball, however, is such that the player in order to properly play same must assume a stance that is oub of bounds. Is this permis sible? If a player’s ball is within bounds, the player has a perfect right to stand but of bounds in assuming his stance, if he believes by so doing fie will be able to get away a better 1 shot. > .9| ' 1 allo* ■•• UK, JUKI ■< w Don’t Envy Me Youth and beauty are at your command By Edna Wallace Hopper I made myself a famous beauty. I'4.—All hotel reservations have been filled and arrangements are made to take care of the over flow attendance in private homes of the city tor the annual en campment of United Spanish War veterans, which meets here on September 14, 15 and 16. Many early arrivals, including some officers in the organization, are already here and all plans are completed for the many entertain ment features as well as the regular program. George Dover, chairman of the committee on reservations, stated that he expected at least 15,000 visitors for the encampment, while railroad officals placed the estimate much lower. More than 7,000 attended the convention last year in San Fran cisco and it is pointed out that l Chattanooga is much more central- I ly located, and may draw a much ' greater number of delegates. Portsmouth, Va., will send ' twenty veterans and the Florida delegation consists of 125. It is indicated that many of the veter ans will be accompanied by their wives or daughters, which will in crease the attendance much. The Sixth Cavalry troop from Anniston, Ala., accompanied by the regimental band will arrive here on the 14th and a special train will bear the 24th Infantry colored band from Columbus, Ga. They will contribute to the Musical Festivities. The famous charge of Confed erate troops up Snodgrass Hill at the battle of Chicamauga will be re-enacted for the veterans as one of the military feats planned.
