The report is released by President Hull for public informa tion. 'the committee visited Florida, G-.orgia, South Carolina, Missis.-rin pi, Alabama and Louisiana and ob served a large number of tests Y which many kinds of methods were •■m;. loyed. The report recommended early ‘ruction of green cotton stalks. When cotton begins to bloom and there after until the crop is made, the committee re ports in favor of the use of calcium arsenate dust applied according io government recommendations. The committee reported that it found no liquid poison superior to home mixtures and found no mix tures contained anything that had special attractiveness for weevil. The Southern Agricultural Work ers’ association for which the com mittee is acting consists of experi ment station and agricultural col lege men, agricultural workers en gaged in commercial lines' and is consider'-d the most influential ag ricultural organization in the South. IMPORTING DIARY CATTLE IN LAURENS DUBLIN, Oct. 8-—Tr is expected that a carload of dairy cattle will reach here Tuesday for the far mers of Laurens county purchased by County Agent’ J. F. Hart, Jr., who is now away on a buying trip for dairy cattle. Some very choice cows are to be in this car, and Mr. Hair, has stated it will be the last one brought in for some time as the supply of dairy cattle has given out. So many south Georgia farmers have been combing the noi'.h Georgia counties in a hunt for cattle that no more are left Mr. Hart huAjbeen very careful to get only the stock for Laurens county farmms, and he has brou ght no culls in nor will he do so, Every cow he has brought to the county has been carefully graded and selected, and this accounis foi the way these cows have made good since being brought here. HOG SALE AT DUBLIN THURSDAY, OCT. 2L fcSinSE . .x/ul>l<lN, Oct.' B—Another hog sale has teen set for October 25th the last Thursday in this month, by County Agent; J. F. Hart Jr., and every farmer who has any hogs to sell at that time is invited to enter them in this sale. It is earestly desired that all far mers who intend to bring hogs to the sale list them beforehand with Mr. Hart. It is very necessary that some idea of how many are to be expected be on hand, that the cars may be ordered to care for them. The sale in September amount ed to one carload, but they brought the top of the market. It is expec ted that more than one car will be brought in at the next sale, as condi tions wil be more favorable (to the sale. Latest fad in France and Eng land consists in taking henna baths to create an olive colored skin. Mineral production in Canada last year was worth $180,622,000.
