Dec. 26.—(8y Asso ciated Press.) —Former Premier Venizelos has decided to return to Athens and is leaving Paris (for Greece forthwith. His decision was taken after a delegation which ar rived from Athens last night had de-, livered to him this morning a docu ment signed by 270 members of the legislative ■ assembly elected last week urging him to resume charge of the government and save the country. M. Venizelos was told the elect ed representatives of 19 electoral districts who were away in the pro vinces at the time the document was diawn up also favored the request which thus was supported by more than 300 deputies out of 396 con stituting the assembly. Before the overwhelming senti ment of the country as thus ex pressed, M. Venizelos informed General Danglis, head of the mis sion, that he could not refuse to lend his help to the country, but de flated that his political action would have only a temporary char acter. The former premier added that heyhad no intention of form ing a cabinet under his presidency and that, his entire' efforts would be bent Hubard bringing the coun try back to normally and then con sidering the- work to be done. He will reach Athens before the new assembly convenes early in Jan uary. C. Randolph and Lewis Mer ritt, of Americus will go tonight to Atlanta to attend the annual convention of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, which convened in At lanta today for a session of four days. Mrs. Aandolph accompanied her husband to Atlanta, and will remain there during the sessions of the convention as the guest of friends. * Headquarters for the ’ fraternity during the sessions of the conven tion will be is the Ansley hotel, and it is believed that at least a thou sand delegates will attend the At lanta meeting, which is the first convention ever to be’held by the fraternity in any southern city. Mr. Randolph goes to the cos vention as a representative from Omricon chapter, while Mr. Mer ritt will represent Lamba chapter of the fraternity at the University of Georgia.
