[.MINISTERS AND LAYMEN TO MEET ’ L e Street Church to Be Scene of Sundaj Schol Gathering January 17-19 Americus Methodists will be hosts to ■ over - fifty leading ministers and laymen of the South Georgia con ference on January 17-18, when the annual Sunday school Council con venes at Lee Street Methodist Church, according to an announce ment made here today by Rev. John M. Outler, pastor of First Methodist 'Church. Mr. Outler, who is also chairman of the conference Sunday school k board, hence chair.Mn of the conn- P cil said that the meeting would in clude conference officers, district directors, district officers in the .Sunday school board’s organization, as well as several well-known lead ers from Nashville, Tenn. “The purpose of the meeting is to outline and discuss the Sunday school program for 1924 in Meth odist Sunday schools, and to make adequate plans for carrying out this program,” said Mr. Outler. ‘We will discuss, among other items of busi ness, the training of our teachers, the policy of religious education, the cause of missions, the rural Sun day school, and methods of bringing Sunday schools up to the high stand ard set for them by the church.” The conference Sunday school or ganization will conduct eight large training schools for Sunday school teachers this year, besides several other smaller training schools. “We are trying to secure the services of Dr. Walter Kirkland Greene dean of Wesleyan College in Macon, and specialist in Sunday school matters, for the inspiration al address on the night of Thurs day, January 17.. Dr. Greene is one of the most gifted speakers in the state, and it will be a decided priv ilege for Americus people to hear him. The public will be cordially invited to attend this evening serv ice,” concluded Mr. Outler.
