There will be a meeting of the
Sumter County Home Demonstra
tion Council on Saturday afternoon
in the office of Miss Bonnie Park
man in the basement at the court
house. The hour for the meeting
is 2 o’clock and it is expected
there will be a full represntation
attending from every demonstra
tion club in the county.
This is the first meeting of the
county demonstration council since
the state meeting in Athens which
was attended by Mrs. W. H. Em
met and Miss Parkman, as rep
resentatives from Sumter county.
These delegates will make their
report on the activities at Athens,
and have a message of more than
usual interest for those who will be
present.
PROF. MATHIS TO VISIT
8188 COUNTY SCHOOLS
An unusual honor has just been
accorded Prof. J. E. Mathis, of
Arnericus’ school system in his ap
pointment to visit and inspect
schools of Bibb county as represen
tative of the state school board. The
appointment was tendered Prof.
M. H. Ballard, state school super
intendent, and he has just accepted
the commission. He will begin the
task of inspecting and surveying the
Bibb schools Monday February 11,
and plans’ to complete the work as
soon as possible thereafter’, with one
week probably to be devoted there
to.
