The March meeting of the Parent-Teach er Association was held at the High school auditorium Wednsday after noon at half past three o’clock. The meeting was presided over by the president, Mrs. C T. Rainey. The program on “Nature Study ’ was in charge of Miss Leila William son. During the business session, it was unanmiously voted to formu late plans for the extermination of | the mosquito in this vicinity. Mrs. H. J. Williams, Mrs. A. A. Arring ton and Mrs. J. H. Statham were appointed a comimttee to go before th city council asking their co-op eration in this important matter. The mosquito must go, should be the slogan adopted by every man, wo man and child in our town to in sure the health of this community. At this meeting, Mrs. J. H. Hollo way presented the school with a pic ture of Woodrow Wilson, which wil. be placed in auditorium. J. M. M’CLELLAN NEW AGENT AT ALBANY ALBANY, March 7.—J. M. Me Lellan, formerly of Thomasville, has arrived in Albany to take up his duties as freight agent for the Atlantic Coast Line railawy. He will succeed A. W. Turner, the present agent. - Mr. McLellan will begin work" of fically tomorrow. He originally planned to take over his duties in Albany on the first of this month but sickness prevented him from doing so. He has been associated with the Atlantic Coast Line in the capacity of traveling supervisor of freight before accepting the posi tion of Albany freight agent, fol lowing Mr. Turner’s resignation. Sims did on the _ 4th day of February, 1922 execute * and deliver to The Federal Land Bank of Columbia, a corporation created and existing under and by virtue of an Act of Congress ot United States, one certain amorti zation note for the principal sum ot Nine Thousand ($9,000.00) Dollars, together with interest thereon at the rate of 6 per cent per annum from date, both principal and interest be ing payable semi-annually on an amortization plan (after the first payment of interest which was due on May Ist 19J2) in 65 semi-an nual installments of Three Hun dred Fifteen ($315.00) Dollars each and a final installment of Two Hun dred Sixty Two Dollars Sixty Three cents ($262.63), the first install ment being due on November Ist 1922 and one installment due each six months thereafter until the en tire amount be paid in full. It wa« provided in said note “if default be made in the payment of any install ment or installments —or if defauc. be made in respect to any condition, agreement or convenant contained in the mortgage or loan deed which secures the payment hereof, then and in that event the whole sum of the principal of this note remaining at that time unpaid, to gether with the accrued interest, shall, at the option of the holdei' thereof, become due and payable at once”; and Whereas; in order to secure the payment of the principal and inter est due by virtue of said note, said W. J. SOUTH- HOOPLE GHqVJG Mo IkITgREGT IN THE LETTER FoR-fHE MATOR > to the principal debt and become a part thereof and repayment ot same with interest at the rate ot 8 per cent per annum from the date ot such payment shall be secured by .his deed.” It being further provid ed in said deed “that if said party of the first part shall fail to pay any of said installments as they become due and payable, or to per form all conditions and covenants as specified in said note and in this deed; or if default be made in the insurance agreement, or in the pay ment of said taxes, liens —then at the option of The Federal Land Bank of Columbia, or its successors and assigns, the whole principal sum of said note remaining unpaid at that time, together with all accrued interest and all other sums, includ ing all advances made for taxes, liens, insurance—shall at once be. come due and payable without no tice, and this deed may be forth with foreclosed for the whole amount of said sums —time being the essence of this contract,” and Whereas; said deed contained the following provisions: “ —that m case the debt hereby secured shall not be paid when it becomes due — or by reason of a default as above provided. The Federal Land Bank of Columbia its successors and as signs may sell the said property at auction at the usual place f,r conducting sales at the Court House in the County where the land lies, to the highest bidder for cash, first giving four weeks notice of the time, terms and place of sale by ad vertisement once a week in a news paper published in said County— all other notice being waived —and The Federal Land Bank or anyone on behalf of said Bank, may bid and purchase at such sale and therijf upon execute and deliver to the purchaser at such sale a sufficient conveyance of said premises in fee simple—and said party of the first part does hereby constitute and ap point The Federal Land Bank, of Columbia the agent and attorney in fact of said party of the first part and that the conveyance to be made by The Fc-’eral l and Bank of Co lumbia shall be effectual to bar all equity of redemption of said party of the first part or his successors in interest in and to the said prem ises.” and Whereas: said W. J. Sims has made defau’t in the payment of the installments due May Ist, 1923 and November Ist, 1923, and has de faulted in his agreement to keep a.l. taxes paid as they become due, as hereinabove set out, for the years 1922 and 1923 and having default ed in the payment of the insurance premiums as agreed and set out hereinabove, and W’hereas; The Federal Land Bank of Columbia exercising its option has, under the agreements and au thority hereinabove set out, declar ed the remaining principal sum due with interest on same at the rate of 6 per cent per annum from date of November Ist, 1922, (the amount of principal being due on that dale being Eight Thousand Nine Hun dred Fifty-Five ($8,955.00) Dollars ns per agreement in original note, together with all taxes and insur ance premiums, as hereinafter set lorth. Now Therefore: Under and by virtue of the hereinabove describ ed covenants and agreements, then breach as set forth and the power of sale or attorney contained in said above described documents, will be sold before the Court House Door in Americus, Sumter County, Geor gia on the first Tuesday in April, 1924, between the legal hours of sale, to the highest and best bid der for cash the following described real estate, towit: All that tract or parcel of land lying anij being in the 26th District ,of Sumter County, Georgia being all of lots of land numbers One Hundred Eighty Three (183); One Hundred Eighty Two (182) and that part of lot of land number One Hundred Eighty one U 81) that lies North of Wolf Creek. The whole containing five hundred ten (510) acres, more or less. The proceeds of said sale to be applied to the payment of all prin cipal, interest and costs as agreed in the documents hereinabove nam ed and the remaining proceeds, if any, to be paid over to W. J. Sims aforesaid. The amount to be de ducted to satisfy the debt hereby secured being Two Hundred Nine Dollars Ninety Three Cents ($209.93) and One Hundred Thirty Four Dollars Forty Five Cents ($134.45) paid as taxes on dates of Novemler 22nd, 1923 and Jan uary 23rd, 1924, respectively; also Twenty Seven Dollars Fifty Cents ($27.50) paid as insurance on date of February 19th, 1924. with interest on said amounts as hereinbefore set otrt/’ ’ 'RHV ' THE AMERICUS TIMES-RECORDER principal amount of Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Five ($8,95u.- 00) Dollars with interest thereon as herein set out. That they desire for them selves and their associates to be incorporated for a period of twenty years, with the right of renewal thereof, in the name cf the Dixie Mop Company. 2. The principal buisness to be carried on by said Dixie Mop Com pany is the manufacture and sale of a certain mop, patent for which has been applied for, for the pur pose of applying poisons of all kinds to • cotton weed to extermi nate the boll weevil, and to have such mops and devices manufact ured by others on a royalty basis, in any other manner they see fit. 3. The capital stock to be em ployed by said corporation is $25,- 000.00, all of which has been actu ally paid in, and to be divided into shares of SIOO.OO each. 4. They desire the right, how ever, by a vote of the majority of the stock outstanding at any reg ular or call meeting of the stock holders, to increase said capital stock in any sum they desire, not to exceed $100,000.00. 5. The office and principal place of business of said corpora tion is to be Amerieus, Sumter County, Georgia; but they desire the right to establish offices and places of business at any other plaer »n the State of Georgia, ot the United States, they see fit. 6. Petitioners desire the right ■ to sue and be sued, to plead and be impleaded, to have and use a com mon seal; to make all necessary by-laws and regulations; to buy, hold and sell'real estate and per- i sonal property; to execute notes and ' other evidences of indebtedness in- ’ curred in the conduct of the affairs 1 of the corporation; to secure the same by mortgage deed or other form of lien. | 7. They desire the right of said corporation to apply for and accept amendment to its charter, and for all rights of renewal at the ex- , piration under the laws then exist ing. WHEREFORE, petitioners pray to be incorporated under the name and style aforesaid, with all the powers, privileges and immunities - herein set forth, and as are now or : may hereafter be allowed a cor- , poration of similar character under the laws of Georgia.
