Miss Carrie Speer, has been appointed chairman for the county ad plans for the affair are now being com pleted. There are 39 Wesleyan women in Americus alone and a total of 4 i in Sumter county, making this com mPoity one of the more important alumn’ae centers. March 21.—The creaion of a <;ommittee to investi gate the charges that millions of dollars worth of government bonds have been duplicated at the bureau of printing and engraving was rec ommende,d today to the House by the rul'jg committee. The investigation had been de manded by Representative King, of Illinois, who proposed to have the hqrise banking committee conduct the inquiry. Charges of irregularities were made by Charles B. Blackmer, and Luke Blackmer and Frank Lloyd, of Salisbury, N. C. were visitors in Americus today and were the out of-town guests registered at the Tea Room for luncheon. Mrs. DeWitt Pickett and Miss Eloise Pickett, of Dawson, were amoung the out-of-town shoppers in Americus today, and were guests of Mrs. W. D. Moreland for lun cheon at the Tea Room. Mrs. James F. Humber, of Lump kin, was in Americus today, the guest of Mrs. W. M. Humber at hei home on Taylor street.
