RECOMMEND ATKINSON SCHOOLS CONSOLIDATE ATLANTA, April 14.—The num ber of schools in Atkinson County would be reduced from the present number to about ten without caus ing very heavy transportation ex penses, it was stated in a report of a survey made recently in that county under the direction of the state board of education. The report stated that “although the schools of the county are below a reasonable standard on account of a lack of sufficient funds to builej suitable houses and equip them, and to pay properly trained teachers, much progress has been made in ithe organization and development of the schools.” It was pointed out that “the* school districts could be enlarged, and with a small district tax to supplement state and county taxes, good houses could be built and equipped, and capable teachers em ployed. The report also stated that “one or tw 0 local independent systems might be converted into district systems to the advantage of the communities and surround ing territory.” I meal Cleanses month and ■ teeth and aids digestion.
