SATURDAY AFTERNOON, APRIL 19, 1924 1 BIG CHEMICAL EG. IS MT M UP' ATLANTA, April 19. The American Agricultural Chemical Company, a nationally known ferti lizer concern which maintains south ern headquarters in Atlanta, and with plant at Americus and else where, is in no financial difficulties and does not contemplate any re organization, according to an offic ial statement made public here to day. The company has many stock holders throughout the South. The official statemnt, which is signed by Robert S. Bradley, of Boston, Mass., chairman of the board of directors of the American Chemical Company, is as follows: “Aside from the general demorali zation of the fertilizer business of which the public is fully informed, this company knows of no reason for the recent decline in the market price of its securities. Any rumor that the company has any financial difficulties is entirely without any basis of fact whatever and it is ab solutely untrue that the company contemplates or is even thinking of any reorganization or consolida tion. “The company is experiencing no difficulty whatever in financing and its executives are giving their ur ( - divided attention to economies of operation and effective management of the regular business of the com pany. “While the prices received for fertilizer have not been satisfactory, the tonnage already sold consider ably exceeds the tonnage sold at the same time last year and there is, (this year a particularly active de mand during the close of the season because the season opened later than it did last year. “The borrowings and acceptances of the company today amount to only $3,692,000 and have not been increased since February 14th. The collections are taking care of all current requirements. It is not ex pected that there will be any occa sion to increase these borrowings during the balance of this season spifiW SERVICES TO BEGIN (Continued From Page One) Henderson of the Albany Presby terian church.
