WEDNESDA 7 AFFTERNOON APRIL 30. 1924 " Friday afternoon Mrs. O. V. Hogsed entertained very itclight fully the matrons club' and other friends. The living room where the guests assembled was decorat ed with beautiful woodland flow ers and blooming plants placed about the room here effectively used.. After the game Mrs. Hogsed assisted) Iby Mrs. Oscar Williams and Mrs. Jack Slappey served a de licious salad course with punch and a sweet course. Playing were Mrs. Thad Wise, Mrs.J . B. Mahurey, Mrs. J. C. Lo gan, Mrs E. L Bridges, Mrs Bob Brooks, Mrs. Millard Jennings, Mrs. Bowman Wise, Mrs. Joe Williams. Mrs. T. M. Lowry, Mrs. Royal Fletcher, Mrs. W. H. Arnold, Mrs Nina Carter, Mrs. Frank Timmer man, Mrs. Edmund Oliver, Mrs. S. H Timmerman. A lovely party of the week was that on Friday evening at which Mrs. Rees M. Andrews and Mrs. Mettauer Davidson entertained at the home of Mrs. J. W. Timmer man. Quantities of vari-colored spring flower's were used with pleasing effect to decorate the rooms where the card tables were placed. Delicious iced punch was. served throughout the evening, at the conclusion of the game, Mrs. Andrews’ and Mrs. Davison assist ed by their mother, Mrs. Timmer man served an ice course. Bowie New York, as? editor of The South ern Churchman, a publication of the Episcopal church, has been ac cepted and Dr. Joseph R. Dunn, Richmond, appointed to succeed him, it was announced officially to day. A resolution expressing regret of his action in retiring was adopted by The Southern Churchman board in accepting the resignation. It was stated.
