Reports Indicate Farmers Are
Putting in More Than Usual
Area to Staple
ATLANTA, May 28.—Acreage
planted in cotton this year through
out Georgia and neighboring stares
js as large, and possibly a little;
larger, than the acreage last year,
according to reports received here
by cotton men. Seveal of the coun
ties in South Georgia have turned
large acreages into tobacco.
It was stated by experts at the
Georgia Department of Agriculture
that the farmers are using more and
better fertilizer this year than last,
and that more calcium arsenate is
also being used.
Agricultural development agents,
it was stated here today are push
ing the campaign against the boll
weevils which are expected to ap
pear this season in ag large, if not
larger, numbers than during last
season.
Presidential possibilities are mak
ing all the noise they can, but you
