PAGE TWO NEORKERSW RESOURCES OF SOUTH, Activity of Southern Manufac turing Will Be Increased By Display At Industrial Show ATLANTA, May 29.—The pro posed Southern Industrial exposi tion in New York, at which South ern states will make showings of their resources and the progress of their industrial life, will do much to increase the activity in Southern manufacturing circles and will help to make the South industrially greater through showing to the world what the South has and what it is doing, in the opinion of At lanta business men. As pointed out here today by in dustrial leaders industrial exposi tions stimulate industrial activity The showing of the products of the mills and factories evidences utili zation of raw materials that must be near at hand or easily available, and this naturally encourages the estab lishing of additional industries and the increased output of those al ready operating. j Diversification in industry has I done and is doing for Atlanta, man-1 ufacturers asserted, what it has I done for many cities that have be-! come great industrial centers. The j more kinds of factories asd mills a i city or town can have, leaders here I say, the more certain is its pros perity, for it seldom in in dustrial life that all classes and kinds of industry suffer from de pression at the same time. “A slump may come to one class of manufacture, or even to two or ■ three kinds, and still the industrial life of a town can keep up if it has a variety of manufacturing plants,” said an Atlanta manufacturer. ‘Such a thing as complete indus trial stagnation, affecting ail line, of industry, is exceedingly rare.” _ WILLIAMS PLANNING NEW TRAFFIC BUREAU THOMASVILLE, May 29.—J.
