JULY |6, 1924 COLUMBUS IN B ML’ STORY ‘Throwing the Bull’ Finally Re sults in ‘Shooting the Bull’ Near Upatoia COLUMBUS, July 16.—When the reporters finds news hard to get, it might become necessary to concoct a “bull” story. Here’s one that pertains to attempted bull throwing and bull dodging, and tin climax comes when the principals finally attempt to shoot the bull. H. D. Robinson is a resident of the Upatoie section. So are his son and several companions, who, with the elder Mr. Robinson, set out for Columbus with a herd of cattle. Before many miles had been cov ered, a bull became obstinate and refused- to continue his jorney. ed. Bulls often become enraged. This one did. So Mr. Robinson and his companions scattered. The bull came near inflicting serious injury on one or more of the men, and probably would have, had not an au tomobile made its appearance pt an opportune time. The driver of the automobile, afraid blood might be shed in the .bull fight far removed from the arenas of old Mexico, drove his car to a point between the enraged bull and the men. Becoming peeved by this inter ference by a mere motor vehicle, the bull charged the machine. The car had stopped but ths bull had not. The animal met the automo bile bumper ful force with bis h»ad. He was slightly stunned, but again he charged. Finding that he could make little headway against the automobile the bull decided to discontinue the losing fight, but he refused to go further. Mr. Robinson and his companions did not ike the idea of leaving the enraged animal on the road to ter rorize the countryside So they shot the bulk You can tell a bungalow' from a garage by remembering the garages have the largest doors.
