Buried Sunday Afternoon 11. J. Jennings, well known citi zen and business man of Doerun, and former resident of Plains, died at his home at Doerun about mid night Saturday of Bright’s disease. He had been ill for many weeks and the end was not unexpected. Mr. Jennings had many friends in Sumter county, where he had lived for a long time. The deceased was. 55 years oid. Under the supervision of Mrs. C. T. Rainey, the Ellaville Sunbeam-' put on a demonstration showing what little children could do whe t trained bv consecrated leaders. COURT UPHOLDS SEIZURE OF LIQUOR VESSEL MOBILE, Sept. 25.—Judge Gol Ir by., in the county court, in a lengthy decision Wednesday uphold the seiz ure by the state of Alabama of th-.- Itlian steam Vallescura at this port on the ground that the ship waj- a liquor carrier. The ruling for tn state is believed to be the first of its kind. The vessel is valued at $250,000.
