THOMAS NEGRO TO HANG ON FR’DAY THOMASVILLE, Sept. 25.—Wd Hodge, a negro, will be hung Friday for the murder of his wife, Mattie Hodge, about four miles from Thomasville on April 22. Hodge wi.- tried at the April term of Superior Court, found guilty of murder ani sentenced to be hung. Petition for commutation of sentence to life im prisonment was filed by his lawyers and signed by the trial jury, will the plea that Hodge’s mind w.t weak. Hodge shot his wife, it was said because she refused to go North with him. He escaped from jail once, but only went a short distance and was easily captured. Commu tation of sentence has been refused by the Governor and the hanging i‘ expected to take place in the jJI here at noon Friday.
