She herself was married at 14, and believes that the greatest happiness granted to women is possible through marriage. “But it may also bring the great est unhappiness,” she goes On, “and all <>f us cannot be poured in the same mold. . The unhappy marriage is the one to profit by the change.” As it is now, divorce is the only remedy, she points out, and that is a poor way, since the reputation of the husband or wife or both may be damaged in the transaction and the home and its traditions smashed so that the children suffer. “With a time-limit marriage,” she argues, “the contract to love, honor and obey automatically expires al a given time, and those who make mistakes in selectio nare given t.i opportunity to find happiness else where. The arrangements for the care and upbringing of the child ren may be made with honesty and mutual confidence.” We are a liberty-loving race, she believes, and we need fewer restric-l ;rtt ~ : ,odH ■ ?• ■•* ' U >7 V '■’ ■, \ z // '■ hi I fit -JMNb" ■ > ;> v|gg«|? ■ • I Vv., z \ k > u I •• z fWh ..W ,\ .. t . . »«»•' f ti jffivZ/rr .
