October 11 was observed by the Sunday school as work day for the South Georgia Methodist Orphan age at Macon. All members of the school observed the day faithfully, as was evidenced by the contribu tion on Sunday, October 12. After the regular opening exercises of the school at 9:30 a. m., C. S. Hogg, superintendent, presiding, a very appropriate program was ren dered by the primary department. The secretary’s report showed a gift of SSO to the general exense of the home besides our special contribution for the support of a child in the home. We feel like this institution is ever uppermost in our heart and always receives lib eral support from our community. A bright boy about twelve years ,of age is now in one. of the most prominent homes of our communi ty where he will be educated and given the loving care of a devoted family. Another commendable work our Sunday school is undertaking this month is to have every member of the church present at Sunday school and church November 9th, which will be the last service of our pastor before he leaves us for conference. The Woman’s Missionary society of Salem will hold an all-day ses sion Friday, November 14. At this meeting our week of prayer pro gram will be observed and our first lesson in Bible study on the writ ings of Paul will be held. .Mrs. R. D. McNeill is superintendent of this special work and she is very anx ious to enlist every woman of the church in this class. Miss Sarah Ruth Stripling will be hostess for the Epworth League social Friday evening, October 24, at the home of Mrs. R. D. McNeill. She will carry out Halloween fun and frolic ideas and every member of the Salem League will be assur ed of a good time. We are glad to commend the membership of the Woman’s Mis sionary society on attendance at the group meeting last Thursday at Ellaville. Thirteen members of the fifteen on roll were present. We believe in the motto “Interest Plus Enthusiasm Makes Success.” ANDERSONVILLE The Andersonville basket ball team, played Ellaville the return game of the season on the latter’s court last Friday, the score being 20 to 18 in Ellaville’s favor. The game was rather slow but at times interest was at a high pitch, as Andersonville was ahead at one time and was coining strongly as the whistle blew. Ellaville played a good game and did some pretty Too Late to Classify NORFOLK SELECT Oysters; Pure Pork Sausage, Spare Ribs, Veal and tender Porterhouse Steak. Our prices are inducing. Nourishing and perfect bakings are what good health demands. The one sure way is—use pure flour and good baking powder.
