Clark Gives New Reason Why Bonos Should Pass—Polls at City Hall—More Than Thousand Registered The municipal bond election, for the ratification of a bond of $60,000 for re-paving the wood block streets of Ameri- will be held tomorrow—Wednesday. The polls will be at thegcity hall and a special registration of more than a thousand has-been made. 1 Two-thirds of the list must vote, if the bonds carry, regard less of whether they vote for or against the issue; then more than one-naif of those voting must vote FOR bonds or the issue will rail of ratification. There seems to be a decided favorable opinion for the pas sage of the bonds from citizens who have given the matter much study. To a reporter today, C. J. Clark said: “In as much as tomorrow is elec-1 > tion day for Paving Bonds, I thought I would like to say a few words as to why it is to our interest' to vote for bonds etc. “As to the legality of the issue of bonds, this is not a question to be discussed, in as much as the load buyers certainly will not make the purchase unless it, is legal in every detail as they take no chance, there fore we take no chance “As to the taxes "thi.t we will have to pay in addition to our pres ent rate, I will say that we will not be assessed a dime more for the bonds, but if the bond:; should fail to carry it is but a mattter of a very short time until ve will be called on, not only to replace our j wooden floor, but to replace the] concrete base, simply for this rea son. You can't have a real up to date town without pav ed streets.” FIRE DESTROYS SHED REAR CHURCH ST.JIOME Fire Monday afternoon destroy ed a storage house in the rear of Mrs. R. M. Andrews home on Church street. Household goods Stored in the building were destroy edfi along with some feed. The damages amounted to apprbximate ly SSOO. The storage house was a mass of flames before an alarm was sent in to fire headquarters and but for the timely work of the firemen se rious damage might have been done to the residences surreounding the burned building.
