J. iDarden, 63, superintendent of Trim- Lie Brick company hire, was in stantly killed when struck by Nnuin ter 38, fast train of the Atlanta *and West Point railroad, running north from New Orleans to At lant*, Friday at a crossing at the trick plant three miles north of Hogansville. He was struck by the engine and thrown 30 or 40 feet, and was dead when members of the train crew and others reached him. The accident was witnessed by several persons but none was close enough to warn Mr. Darden of the approaching train. The crossing is not obstructed. Since the inauguration in France 2,500 patients have been conveyed by airplane, Picque said. At least 150 thoroughly equipped airplanes now are engaged in am bulance work in France, he added. C., Nov. 29 Vance Morgan, a negro, alias, Vanve Clayburn, was electrocuted at the state prison here Friday. A few minutes before the elec trocution he confessed to his spir itual adviser that he killed Butler Funderburk, of whose murder he was convicted last July in the su perior court of Union county. BRITISHS ADMIRAL DIES AT AGE OF 77 LONDON. Nov. 28. —Admit- il Sir William Alison Dyke Acland re tired, died Wednesday. Sir William Alison V.-ke Acland was born at Oxford in 1847. He entered the H. M, S. Brittania as a cadet in 1861. He was attacked to the first brigade of the Chilean army in the campaign against Peru in 1881. He was made a rear ad miral in 1899. He was subsequent liy made superintendent of the Gi braltar dock yards, was promoted to vice admiral in 1904, and appointed an admiral in 1908. He retired in 1911 - If they don’t forget to do it, the Plumbers’ Association will spend some money to stop jakes on plumbers.
