At the banquet to be held here Fri day the Sigma Nu’s are going tc organize a district. alumni associa tion and eac hyear a banquet will be held in one of the sorrourding towns, during the Christmas noli days. "Foots” Johnson Will Meet Candidates at Americus Play ground for Instructions AH students of the Americus High school, who are candidate.! for next years football team are re quested by Prof. C. M. Hale to meet, J. C. Johnson at the Americus playground Friday morning at 10 o’clock, where they will te instruct cd in both defense and offense foot ball. Mr. Johnson ,in a litter to the T. INVALID FATHERSEES DAUGHTER BURNED CEDARTOWN, Ga., Dec 24- Funeral services for Miss Hilda Moore, 17, who died Sunday night of burns received Saturday when she stood too close to ar open grate in opening a Christmas package, were held this afternoon at Lime branch, near here. The young wo man is said to have run into the street as her dress flared. Her in valid father, who was in the room at the time, was unable to assist her. 3 men Filled in BOILER EXPLOSION MEMPHIS, Tenn., Dec. 24. — The death toll as a result of boiler explosion at a saw mill near Earley, Ark., was increased to three recent ly with the death here of I&onroe Franklin, 25, who was caught in the flow of boiling water which spread over the engine room if the plant when the blast occurred W. A. Weaver, 45, owner of the mill, was blown a distance of 200 yards and instantly killed, and Wil liam Webb, 18, was fatally crushed Under a pile of lunfb r. Fee. 24 Eleven families, including forty-j three children, were made homeless' when fire destroyed a row of four-1 teen houses at Bethlehem Steel City, four mile sdown the Lehigh river from here. The loss is estimated at $55,000. The local Red Cross and American Legion post formed a relief committee to take care of, the homeless.
