MONDAV AFTERNOON, JULY 13. 1925 RAISE STANDARD OF POOL ROOM i ATLANTA, July 13.—AmeHean’ citizenship would be required for all proprietors of pool rooms and bil lard parlors under terms of a reg- 1 ulatory bill on billiards,, which has been introduced in the senate by Senator Carl N. Guess, of the 24th district. , This measure is similar to one ' introduced at the last general as-' sembly but which was crowded out in the rush of the closing hours of the session. / I am introducing and sponsor ing a regulatory bill on billiards at the urgent request of the Georgia Billiard Association.” Mr. Guess said, “which represents the best ele ment among our citizens who are ardent billiard players and who are staunch advocates of law and order and clean and wholesome conditions surrounding the billiard players and conditions surrounding the billiard game. “I believe, as do all others with whom I have conversed on the sub ject, that it would be beneficial to our citizens and to our State if this bill were to become a law. “This measure will put a certain element out of the billiard business and will raise the standard of the game. Instead of ‘punishing the in innocent with the guilty.’ it will pre serve the inherent rights of a vast army of our citizens who follow billiards as a recreation, and will af fect only the undesirables.” The major provisions of the bill • follow: “American citizenship for all pro prietors, Separation of the races, j No ‘Farming out’ or sub-leasing of Licenses to anyone. Personal man agement, supervision and control must be maintained by party secur ing license. ) .-urt i rwHU I & PI ED ADS , Phone 99 —Talk to 2500 Families for Only a Few Cents —They Sell or Buy Most Anything Phone 99 CLOSING OUT FOREVER!
