THURSDAY AFTERNOON, SEPTEMBER 10, 1925 AMATEUR SWORD SWALLOWER DOES ’ STUNT TOO WELL • / COLUMBUS, Ohio. Sept. 10. Convincing work in his amateur sword-shallowing act at a local theater accomplished full results in way of thrills for his audience, but threatened to end disastrously for -I*ck Hill, 24, of Edgefield. Hill swallowed the sword all right ■ a nine-inch case knife, but In his stomach the knife remained Until surgeons removed it at a hospital several hours later. Apparently Hill’s act went over ■smoothly, ending in a demonstration in which the knife disappeared down his throat. He bowed as the audience applauded, then left the stage without restoring the blade to view. Fully aware of his predica ment, Hill went to a hospital. An X-ray revealed the knif« the blunt end down and point piercing his esophagus. through an abdominal incision the blade was removed and except for incidental shock had caused no harm. Hill will recover. funeral services FOR MRS. M E. OLIVER 1 unetal Services were held Wed- j McJunkin Advertising Company Copy bJtyTS— Job No. 3338 1 col. xi7Klk—N. P,, Fall, 1925 i \ A !
