And remem ber the Opportunity Vote Coupon goes out of effect at nine o’clock Monday night, Sept. 21st. Never again will there be an extra vote issued during the life of the cam paign. NOW—THIS WEEK— is the appointed time for real contend ers to cinch the prize of their choice. . Interest in the Times-Rbcorder’s mammoth SIO,OOO “Everybody Wins Something” Prize Election is in creasing somewhat. Saturday saw more real enthusiasm manifested— truly, it is time some were awak ening to their opportunity. Why, a new candidate who has it in him or her, who will really go after subscriptions, can do almost anything he or she desires in this I campaign. And the field is «pe in both districts. , j Every day brings inquiries, tho now the greater part of them are ' accompanied by votes from persons ; who, having been nominated,- have j thought it over carefully and have decided that the opportunity of se curing one of these big, handsome speedy motor cars or one of the oth er valuable gifts or a bit of the cash commissions, is too good to | pass by. They are starting on the road to success—these men and women. During the last few days the campaign department has been , flooded with votes sent by friends . for their favorite candidates. Evi dently some of the candidates who have been less active in the past enrolled the help of their acquaint ance. when renewing I or subscribing to the Times-Record [er invariably have their favorite 1 can didate in whose favor they cast ’ their votes. The management takes ' this as an indication that there are to be some surprises and shifting about in the vote standings. In fact, some of those candidates who are lower down in the list are now starting their campaign in earnest and if the management are “good guessers” some of those who have the lead now will have to look out or they will be passed by. A little mathematics used will show any candidate how to jump to the top of the list. Here’s Plan to Get Votes There is one way to be assured of votes. That way is to go out after subscriptions. Subscriptions will win. Here’s a tip for candidates: Just because some one candidate has no reason why you shouldn’t work Success Can Be Yours Opportunity Votes Point The Way! Mail or Send This Coupon for Information Information Coupon Times-Recorder, Americus, Ga. Gentlemen:—Please send me detailed information. I am interested in your Gift Distribution. Phone Address Name been working in a given territory is there also. N ocandidate can get all the subscriptions. Perhaps you have more salesmanship ability. Perhahps he has changed his mind. Peraps you happen to ‘'strike” him differently. Never give up. A non subscriber is always a prospect un til he subscribes. An old subscrib er is always a prospect until he re news. The coupon which appears daily in the Times-Recorder is soon to be reduced. The coupon is still good for 100 votes. In keeping with the general plan of reducing coupon and subscription voting values instead of increasing them, as the campaign progresses, the present value of coupons will not be maintained for long. Count For More Candidates eventually will realize that work now will produce sub scriptions which count for more. A. subscription now is worth several times the votes it will be when the campaign closes. A lead secured, now will be harder and harder to overcome as the time for the ending of the campaign nears. This certainly ought to spur can didates to action. The hardest part, of all is getting started. Bear ins mind that friends of a candidate will be willing to help once they know the candidate means business. If yoir show through your votes and through your effort, that you are in to win, your friends will rally to help you. But if you appear to bet indifferent they will naturally help> someone who seems anxious to ad vance. That is just natural. It is human nature. Much of the candidate’s success depends on the attitude assumed- One must demonstrate his interest One who is serious is bound to find friends ready to help. You will not write up everyone* you approach. Maybe many wilt turn you down. Then again you’ll do mighty well. You must not be discouraged. There are “good days” and some not so good. The law of averages will hold good for you- Know that others bump up against the same conditions and the same arguments and the same kind of people. You are not an island. AU you have to do is to do your best- Your best is good enough—it is ample to win. Now, all you who are entered,, carry on. This is the time to get a real start—to pile up a lead. This is the time when subscriptions count for MORE.
