Witnesses reported that Phillips drove his automobile around a wag on that was stanidng in the road di rectly into the path of the locomo tive. The lay men of the Methodist Episcopal church South were urged in a state ment issued today by the executive committee of the general laymen’s association of the Methodist Epis copal church to vote for unifica tion. LEAGUE IS ASKED FOR OPINION IN OIL ROW GENEVA, Sept. 19.—A sub-com commission of the League of Na tions today recommended that the court of international justice be asked for its advisory opinion as to the two points bearing on the set tlement of the Turco-British dis pute over the Mosul oil region.
