The principals in this unique triangle were Thomas Meigh an, James Kirkwood and Lila Lee, who in private life is Mrs. James Kirkwood. When Jim arrived unexpectedly at the studio, he found his wife very busy receiving the romantic atten tions of Mr. Meighan, while direc tor Victor Heerman urged them on. But Jim didn’t care—he knew their love was reel! It was only for a scene in Home Week,” Thomas Meighan's latest Paramount production, in which Lila Lee has the leading fem inine role. “Old Home Week,” which closes an engagement at Dudley’s tonight is about as satisfying and interest ing a photoplay at the current sea son has produced. One of the most compelling love stories in the world’s literature will be at the Rylander Theater Friday and Saturday. The novel created a sensation upon its publication, fif teen years ago by its daring analy sis of love passion Aileen Prin gle’s charm. When I came to America to produce my three weeks I was a little anxious as to where I should find as exotic type for my Lady. So it was literally a gift when I met Aileen Pringle. She has black hair, beautiful mystrous eyes and above all she has no vamp looks about her. The vulgar no tion of the lady was that she was a sort of glorified adventureses out to find a nice, young man. In re ality, she was a noble queen, an guished by life’s cruelties, which wre keener becausue of her high po sition. Paul represented to her all that was straight, and true and clean in manhood and for the first time in her life she found love. The Lady had a magnificent character. When she first saw Paul such a contrast to the degraded, drunken King she had left—she counted the cost, and then determined to pay whatever prices was necessary to know even the shortest speell of happiness. The manager of the Ryanlder had the pleasure of show ing “Three Weeks” at the Strand theatre, Kings Mountain, N. C., and never did I witness a more thrilling tale of love. It is a story of two souls with but one heart. C., Sept. 22.—“ The good Lord finds a heap to make me happy about.” Sneer at the sentiment as Polly annaism if you will. But one can only take off his hat in respectful amazement at Aunt Lucy Bolin who utters it. Aunt Lucy Ann is 76 and for 66 years she has been bound by the hopeless twisting of paralysis to a straight, worn hickory chair in her windowless little cabin. She lives entirely alone. She is poor. She jis an invalid. She has missed the , external essentials to happiness. Yet she earns her own living, preserves her independence and is pleased at life. I She doesn’t preach, but if you will listen as she tells her story, you may receive both a sermon ana a benediction. I am not sick much, and people are good and kind. “I used to go in good weather to Canaan Methodist Church. But about a year ago some of them took me m an automobile to a big meet ing. It was raining and I got sick so I don’t go any more. I don’t like to be trouble to anybody, and I reckon the Lord believes I am good Christian and will understand why I don’t go. “I’ve done asked Him lots of times to take me away from here when Iget to where I can’t help myself and when I can’t be cheeful And I know He will.” When only 10 years old, Aunt Lucy Ann was rendered helpless by infantile paralysis.
