Manager St. John has caused more than fifty small canning and evapor¬ ating plants to be established on farms and in small villages along the line; and in the way of in¬ troducing new field crops, the management has been develop ing hop culture in certain sections along all its line which work has been progressing successfully. There have been 100 experiment stations put along the line and will grow such crops as is thought will pay in this section of..the country. Seeds are given the farmers and in various ways the section through which the road goes aid is given to build up enterprises.
