Miss May O’Brien opened school at Barnett on Monday hist. Miss Annie Barnett opened her school on the Ridge this week. We learn Mrs. John Griffith is seriously sick. Hope she may soon recover. Our saw mills keep pretty busy all the time now. Everybody wants lumber. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pittman were visiting Mr. and Mrs. \V, .T. Ellington last week. Mrs. J. A. Kendrick gave the little folks an entertainment at her residence in Sharon last week. Mr. R. N. Gilbert lias finished moving to his old home and is nicely fixed up for the present year on Pea Ridge. Mr, Walter Davison and family, of Au¬ gusta, visited his parents at Sharon last week. We learn that the people have paid up their taxes better the past year than usual. , Mr, A. T. Gilbert was assistant marshal of our town the past week. He makes a , good officer. William Taylor lias l'6eu suffering with liemorage of the lungs in fact lio came very near dying. The Christmas tree at Mildrajon school house was quite a success although the weather was bad, Mr. Askew and sister, of Hancock county, were on a visit to relatives near Barnett last week. Tiie party giyen by Misses Missouri Bagby and Mertis Taylor last Wednesday evening was quite a success. Mr. E. S. O’Brien and family of Barnett leaves for Atlanta this week. We wish them good luck wherever they go. Mrs. Ida Moore, and son, Charlie, was visiting her brother W. J. Ellington week. Mrs. Moore liyeu here once.
