Many of our people seem to forget that Memorial cay is not designed to be a general decora¬ tion day. They appeal’ to for get that the leading idea is to decorate the graves of those who were confederate soldiers. As a consequence ol’this orgetful ness.we were prone ty observe that the graves of a number of soldiers were unnoti<*d in the floral honors. It would be well. we think, to decorate no graves but those of soldiers op Memori¬ al day, and have another time set for a general decoration. Mrs. Williams, the author of Me¬ morial day, especially begged that only soldiers graves be dec¬ orated on April 2fith. t OBSERVER.
