Hartman concerning the ailments pecu¬ liar to their sex. The two following letters, published by the consent of the writers are specimens. No wonder these ladies are enthusiastic. They had been sick a long time. Their cure was un¬ expected. The first one, Mrs. King, of North Carolina, writes: “ I was afflicted for twenty years and did not know what ailed me. My husband employed three doctors, but they did me no good. I took different kinds of medicine, all to no effect. In 1896 a friend told me I had catarrh. I had a bad cough and running at the nose all the time. I was advised H I m J Mrs. M. M. King, Waterloo, ti. C. to try Pe-ru-na and I took four bottles. I am now well of the catarrh. I believe Pe-ru-na saved my life. The doctors and all others failed. Bartholomew, of St. Francis ville, ill, says: “ Abouttwelve years age I was afflicted with female trouble (pel vio catarrh.) 1 doctored with several skillful physicians, but kept getting worse until I became bedfast. 1 re¬ mained in this condition about twe years, under the attendance of four physicians. “I concluded I would write Pr. Hart¬ man for advice. I owe my life to Pr. Hartman and Pe-ru-na. My friends and nclgllbo-, m never expected to mo -rrwtl again. I am now able to assist with my househofJ duties. I think my recovery Is a surprise to - every one who knew me. My appetite was so r | poor I oo’ild eat -3T scarcely any¬ k 4) thing; but I can eat any and everything now without pain. I cannot recom mend your medi¬ cines enough.” Catarrh is tho bane of womankind. Nearly every case of so called female complaint is due to catarrh of the pelvic organs. A woman free from catarrh is genera ly a well woman. Catarrh of the pelvic organs makes more women miserable than all other diseases combined. Fur Pr. We did not know they had to examine the pension roll. The code of 1895, vol.fird, page215 shows the law as recorded from act of 1890 and 1891. What we said was applied to the state generally. If there is passed any deficiency It is in the law as It was and what we said about the old Confederate soldiers was not applied to the grand jury at all. We said "We did not think that an old confed. would dishonestly make an application unless he thought he was deserving.” What we said about some accusation of us was altogether uu outside affair. We meant no reflection on the grand jury at all. I hope this will satisfy all of them, if not if they will call on me in person! will try to satisfy beyond a doubt. C. L. BAGBY.
