PAGE 3 Graveside Services To Be Held For Ettie Lucyle Hall Ettie Lucyle Hall of Union Point, GA passed away late Saturday night on December 30, 2023 at Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation. She was 78. Lucyle was born in Washington, GA at Wills Memorial Hospital on October 12, 1945 to the late Thomas Joseph Hall and Iris Windsor Hall. She attended school as a child at Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville. In 1955, at the age of 10, Lucyle and her family moved from Crawfordville to a farm in Woodville. She graduated from Union Point High School in the Class of 1963. Lucyle received an associates degree from Athens Tech after high school. She then moved to Atlanta and began a 30 year career at SouthernBell which later became BellSouth. Lucyle started as an operator and moved up to an office manager before retiring in 1995 at the age of 49. At that time she moved back to Woodville to be close to her family. Lucyle was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church. She is survived by her brother, McCord Windsor “Mac” Hall of Woodville, GA; sisters, Joan Hall Eubanks (Dennis) of Eatonton, GA, and Rita Hall Lesko of Woodville, GA; nephews, Kevin McCord Eubanks of Statham, GA, Dennis Bradon Eubanks of Jefferson, GA; niece, Memory Jo Eubanks of Clyo, GA; great nieces and nephews, Kerrigan Ashley, Ben Ashley, Kasey Eubanks, Merritt Eubanks and Landry Eubanks; other relatives and many friends. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodville Cemetery, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E., Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. Visit us at www. mccommonsfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest register Memorial Services To Be Held For Pauline Channell Richardson Pauline Channell Richardson, 104 years young, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024. She was born in Philomath, GA, on July 22, 1919, to the late John Harrison Jackson, Sr. and Laura Smith Jackson. She attended Union Point Schools, eventually earning her GED after leaving school to work at the local textile mill to help provide for her mother and siblings after her father passed away. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of attending college, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Truett McConnell College in 1990 at the age of 71. Pauline married Robert Melvin Channell, Sr. on September 7, 1941, while he was in the Army. They lived in Florida, Tennessee, and Indiana, before settling in Greene County, where they lived until Melvin’s death in 1963. Pauline lived the remainder of her life in Greensboro, GA, where she married Cecil McDaniel in 1965 until his death in 1971 and Paul Richardson in 1990 until his death in 1999. Shewastheoldest living member of First Methodist Church of Greensboro-Lake Oconee. “Miss Pauline,” as she was affectionately known by many, not only devoted herself to her family, but to Greene County. She took over the family grocery business, Channell SuperValu, after the death other husband Melvin and operated it independently for over 30 years. “Miss Pauline” was never afraid to speak her mind and many have expressed that she was the most dedicated and hard working woman they had ever known. In addition to owning and operating a successful business, Pauline served for eight years on the board of Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital during a critical time in the life of the hospital as it was on the verge of being closed down. As chair of the Greene County Hospital Authority, she tackled the problem with the forthrightness and dedication that characterized her life and successfully campaigned to save the hospital from imminent demise. As a result, she received the Georgia Hospital Association Distinguished Service Award in 1997. Pauline’s life is a testament of her faith and commitment to endure through difficult times. She did not know the meaning of giving up. Pauline has left a legacy which will live on well beyond her years. In addition to her parents and husbands, Pauline was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Villegas, brother, John Harrison Jackson, Jr., son, Robert Melvin Channell, Jr. and grandson, Paul Jackson Channell, Jr. She is survived by her son, Paul Jackson Channell, Sr. and his wife Diane, of Santa Fe, NM; daughter-in- law Carolyn DeVane Channell of Greensboro, GA; five grandchildren, Sara Lynn Bryant (Benjie), Laura Mason (Steve), Mel Channell, Carrie Shepherd (Scott), Ravi Channell (Amara); nine great-grandchildren: Caroline Bryant, Alyson Richards (Conrad), Will Sellers, Isabelle Channell, Robert Channell IV, John Shepherd, Grace Mason, Henry Shepherd, and Liza Shepherd; one great- great grandchild Nora Richards; several beloved nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and friends. The family is especially grateful to Robert Peek for his dedication and loyalty to Pauline over the past 40 years. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at2:00p.m. atthe First Methodist Church of Greensboro-Lake Oconee, 202 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA, with the Rev. Richard Chewning officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the Family Life Center. Live Oak to be removed from Memorial Garden on West Broad Street Traffic delays to affect Highway 15 on March 14 starting at 8 a.m. The Greensboro Tree Board and Greensboro Garden Club will have the Live Oak in the Greensboro Memorial Garden removed on Thursday, March 14 starting at 8am. Be cautious of traffic delays and road closures. The hundred years old Live Oak in the historic Memorial Garden, at the corner of West Broad Street and Laurel Street, will be removed starting at 8 a.m. on March 14.
