Statewide Bible Reading
The Statewide Bible Reading
is coming up in about 3 months.
In an houror less the entire Bible
will be read across the state of
Georgia. On July 14 at 7:14AM,
Taliaferro County will read Mark
13-Luke 1 on the courthouse
steps.
Every county in the state
of Georgia (159) will gather at
each courthouse and read a
short passage from the Bible.
The basis for this reading is
taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If
my people, who are called by my
name, will humble themselves,
and pray and seek my face, and
turn from their wicked ways,
them I will hear from Heaven,
and forgive their sin and heal
their land.”
The verse is also the reason
the Bible reading is held on July
14 at 7:14AM
If you would like to
participate, please call, text or
email at ladychip129@yahoo.
com or 706-338-6216. If you
are talented musically, please
let me know. If you are willing
to read a short segment or pray,
I’d like to hear from you. If you
don’t think you can participate
in those ways, please come the
morning of July 14 to support
this effort and to glorify God and
to praise His name.
Sharon Shenanigans 2024
JANE KUEHN, Shenanigans Team Captain
A picture-perfect day
greeted the 11th annual Sharon
Shenanigans on Saturday, April
27, 2024.
After months of planning,
we enjoyed a smooth-running,
family friendly, community
event that brought hundreds
of visitors to Sharon to enjoy
the many varied vendors,
the entertainment, and the
social contacts. All day
entertainment filled the air with
music while children frolicked
on the bouncy house, had a
challenging scavenger hunt, or
took advantage of educational
UGA/4-H booths and safely
viewed the sun through Deerlick
Astronomy Village’s telescopes.
The aroma of food triggered
appetites, quickly satisfied
by home baked goods, BBQ
treasures, large and small,
to beautify their homes and
populate their garden beds.
Fresh produce and free Christian
literature meant multiple trips
to the car, and everyone who
wanted to receive a sapling was
able to choose from hundreds of
ornamentals and hardwoods
donated by the City of Sharon in
conjunction with their Arbor Day
Tree City program.
I especially want to thank Dr.
Eric Pagan of Affinity Dentistry
in Washington and Relyant
Communications for their
generous support and donations
to the Shenanigans. Special
thanks also to the TC police, TC
EMT’s, Chip Linus from 94.7
WULK and 108.9 WDDK-Lake
Country Radio stations, as well
as all those who volunteered,
who bought raffle tickets. We
were able to give $388 to our
grand prize winner!
Finally, appreciation and
thanks to the entire Shenanigans
team: Paula Atchinson, Renee
Brown, Sharon Carruthers,
Thomas Mcfie, Buddy
Patterson, and Donna Taylor.
Congratulations on a job well
done!
