In accordance with an act passed bv t( ie last legislature to make it the duty a County School Commissioner to organise an Institute in each county in thest ^ white teach-, sof Schley were called together last Saturday to perfect said ornganization, by County School Commissioner. The Institute having been called to order the chairman appointed Prof 1 N Molt. Sec, who proceeded at onc 6 to Ascertain what teachers were present, Only a few teachers were reported absent, There having been no one assigned to ntroduc- tne subjects, the chairman, upon motion of the Institute, called for volunteers on each subject presented bv the programme ami syllabus. The norning was spent in discussing the best methods of teaching orthography, read ,ug and writing. In the afternoon, grammar, arithmetic ,md geowaphy received the attention of he teachers present. For some time it has been an open secret about town that Mr. Edgar Willi amson, a prominent young farmer re s ;qjng about three miles west of town and Miss Ela Wotnack, daughter of one of Schleys stan-h tillers of the soil, were to be married on Wednesday night of this week. It app-ars there was some objections to the marriage from relatives, and like the warriors of old. acting upon the principle of surprising the opponent to make success assured. Mr. Williamson secured the proper papers at the ordi narysoffice Sunday morning, went out to see his fiance, carried her to church won her over to a conviction of the Im po'tance of a speedy performance of the merital ties and early in the after noon they drove in town and proceeded at once to the parsonage where Rev. C. A. Branch administered the solemn vows without as much as troubling them to get out of the buggy. The young couple a f ter receiving the benediction of the good parson and the congratulations of the few friends present drove out to the home of Mr. Williamson where they' have enteredupon a new life. The News hopes it may be one of long devotion accompanied by unbounded happiness and piosperity. C Trice of Florida, and will engage in Journalism elsewhere. Mr. Trice the new proprietor, is thoroughly conversant with every branch of the newspaper business.
