Our Merchants are getting in large supplies of spring and summer goods. Look out for their big new advertisments in the News. They are progressive men and believe in using printers ink freely. Quite a number of our farmer friends "ere in town the first of the week get ting supplies of guano for their planta tions. Judging from thequanttiy taken out this week they believe in doing well that which is to lie done. The cotton crop of Schley countv has not all been marketed yet by a" good deal. Cotton is coming in every day. while many of our farmers are still holding back their entire crop, hoping to receive better prices later on. One of Schley county’s colored gentry was in town Tuesday, losing a day from his crop, lounging around on the streets complaining of his misfortune in days gone by. Ho said he had been in jail t hree times and broke-oni; twice. The new jad was built for ju-st suehcharac lers ’ an< * ** l,e H very cold day im ■and summer when one breaks out of it. In mentioning tlxe fact last week that ■there W{13 opposition to the marriag of Mr.Edgar Williamson and Miss Wamack we had no intention off conveying the idea that said objections was madeby the parents of either Mr. Williamson or the young Udy wfaoiue he married. It is a truth in medicine that the smal lest dose that performs the cure is the best. De Witt’s Little Early Risers are the smallest pills, will perform the cure and are the best. A party of Ellaville sportsmen spent Monday quail shooting over in the Tur key Creek settlement Upwards of forty quail were bagged, but there is one per plexing question connected therewith which remains unsettled. Major bald win on starting out made a proposition to treat any one of *he other members of the party who would kill more birds than Mr. J. M. Murohv. When the birds were counted it turned out that the Major was the victor himself. Now. the question is. who should he treat— himself, or the whole crowd. WASHINGTON S BIRTH DAY.
