ELLAVILLE, GA, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2,1893 “BABY IS DEAD. What bitter pangs of sorrow, what cruel, crushing heart aches, what demo lition of cherished hopes are conveyed in the above announcement, only those who have experienced can form any conception. Three weeks ago the home of the editor of the Citizkn was full of sunshine and happiness. Every little face, turned up to receive a kiss at his departures and and returns, was beaming with health and joy. Little Lee Alexander, the idol of the household, had never been sick a day. His sweet baby face, merry beam ing eyes and joyous coo greeted every one who entered the room. To he the first U» embrace him in the morning and the last to kiss him at night was the am bition of all his little brothers and sistersi his cradle was the shrine at which they all paid homage. Scarcely four months had lie been lierc, but during that brief period the hearts of the entire family had become entwined around him. On the 15th his fond mother, with all the joyous exuberance and pride of girlish motherhood, left Oglethorpe to visit her mother in Florida and present her precious hoy to his grandmother, who had been writing urgent epistles hurrying up this happy event. We accompanied them as far as Al bany, little thinking when we kissed our darling good bye that it would be the last, time on earth, bgtalas it is too true! Those little eyes were closed forever, those little lips silent in death and that precious little form laid away in the family cemetery to mingle with tbc dust of other loved ones, ere we ever heard from him again. Messages came, but the misfortunes of a sister with live helpless babes, had called us to another part of the state, and we missed then!. .Soon after reaching Florida, baby Lee was found to be suffering with thrush, medical aid was called, .and all that lov ing hands could do was done for him, but rapidly the disease passed to the stomach and on the night of the 23rd the thekering spark of life Hashed out. Our baby boy was no more, the heart ot an idolizing mother crushed, a vacancy was forever made in the family circle and a pall of sadness hangs over our little home.—Macou County Citizen.
