Experts Say Fruit Crop is Killed.
Col. Marshall J. Hatcher is
among those fruit growers who be
lieve that the entire crop is killed,
and although he never cries over
spilt milk, it is only natural for him
to feel a little blue over such a great
loss to himself, as well as to the en
tire community.
Mr. T. (). Skellie, who is
ally regarded as one of the best post
ed men on fruit in the state, when
seen by a reporter, said :
I notice in the paper today that
there will be a half crop of peaches.
Now, there is no more possibility
of our making a half or a fourth or
a tenth of a crop of peaches than
there is that the dead will rise to
day. I read all the newspapers that
I get hold of, and stand by peaches
as long as any man on earth and
hope for the best. But when the
buds, dormant or blooming, are
dead, they are dead. The good, old
seedlings, that ‘they say’ have
never failed since Adam took
charge of the Garden of Eden—
those that I have examined—are
just as dead as any others. There is
nothing like giving ‘facts,’ and if
we don’t lose anything but the ac
tual peach buds, many people, in
cluding myself, will thank the good
Lord. I will not misrepresent any
thing intentionally, but you can
rely absolutely on this, weather bu
reau or no weather bureau.”—The
Macon Telegraph.
After the Grip—What?
You thought you had the best of
the grip and you determined to wear
it off ;but somehow it does not wear
off as you expected. You pass restless
sleepless nights and get up in the
morning feeling more exhausted
than when vou retired. You arc ir
ritableand nervous and have no ap
petite for your food. You go about
in a listless, halfhearted sort df way,
and everything you undertake to do
seems to go wrong. Do you know
that you are on the verge of nervous
prostration? You need help; and
you need it more now than you did
when the grip was at its worst.
Dr. Miles’ Nervine is the best
medicine you can get to build up
your shattered nerves and restore
vour wasting strength. It invariably
insures sound sleep and gives the
overstrung nerves their natural rest.
It makes the appetite keen, facilita
tes the digestion, gives healthful
vitality to the nerves and restores
health.
4 4 I was nervous, restless, irritable
and altogether out of sorts. It was
impossible to get my natural sleep
and I became so weak and exhausted
that I could not leave my bed
Finally I commenced taking Dr.
Miles’ Nervine and I began to im
prove from the first dose. In a short
time my health was completely re
stored.” Mrs. Dow- Heagle,
Sing Sing, N. Y.
