The Schley County News. Pvft.T-.Hir> Every Thyr^day. R.E. ELLIOTT, Editor and Business Manager. Entered at the Ellaville, Ga., Post Office as second class mail matter. We have recieved of Col. J. C. Huilc, General Passenger Agent of the Central of Georgia Railway, an elegant folder that shows the location of American Army posts in Cuba and gives a great deal of information about the island and its people. “Where they were” is the title of an illustration on the cover, showing the troops in camp on American soil, and “Where They Are” is another illustration that shows a company fording a stream on a march in Cuba. The streets presented quite a busy appearance Saturday. Num bers of people w-ere here from the county and the merchants did a good business. Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s day and all loyal Irishmen in Ellaville will wear the green and celebrate accordingly. In a recent letter from Washing ton, I). C., to an old friend, Major G. A. Studer, for twenty years United .States Consul at Singapore, says; “While at Des Moines I be came acquainted with a liniment known as Chamberlain’s Pain Balm which I found excellent against rheumatism as well as against sore ness of the throat and chest(giving me easier breathing). I had a touch of pneumonia early this week, and two applications freely apliedtothe throat and chest relieved me of it at once. I w-ould not be without it for anything.” For sale by Dr. J. N. Cheney – Co. The eleventh annual session of the Georgia Chautauqua will be held in Albany 7 , April 2nd to 9th inclusive. A very interesting pro gram has been arranged for this occasion. TOOK A SEVERE COLD AFTER THE BIG FIRE. After the big fire in Cripple Creek, I took a very severe cold and tried many remedies without help ; t he cold only becoming more settled. After using three small bottles of Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy, both the cold and cough left me, and in this high latitude it takes a merit orious cough remedy to do any good —G. B. Henderson, editor Daily Advertiser, Cripple Creek, Colo. Sold by Dr. J. N. Cheney –Co. 1 he value of the chicken and egg crop last year was nearly $30,000,000. Discovered by a Woman. Another great discovery has been made, and that too, by a lady in this country. “Disease fastened its clutches upon her and for 7 years she withstood its severest tests, but her vital organs were undermined and death seemed imminent. For three months she coughed incess antly, and could not sleep. She finally discovered a way to recov ery, purchasing of us a bottle of Dr. King’s New Discovery for consumption, and was so much re lieved on taking first dose, that she slept all night; and with two bot tles, has been absolutely cured. Her name is Mrs. Luther Lutz.” Thus writes W. C. Hamnick, of Shelby, Regular R ] size . 50c J' and Every °* bottle guaranteed. tjczzhz. sar | ~ : i of$®<ic::::::::: f >.Cl *. * .G.O.Q.O.O.O.O | Andrew Chapel News. sx*xsxj<sXs)®<8<>®C?^ We had a few fair days last week, and the farmers put in some good work. The farmers of this section were very busy last week and this, trying to get ready to commence planting, but they will be behind the usual time of plant ing by ten days this spring, but I do not suppose they need to hurry for it is like I heard an old gentleman say not long ago that you could not make but one crup in a year no way you could fix it. The recent cold wave killed down most of the gardens that had been sown since the freeze of Feb 12, and as far as peaches are concerned we are not going to have any in this section of the county. Not getting along as well as you expected? That is the way grip acts when it is not taken in hanc and driven out of the system at once. The poisons left by the grip germs keep right on destroying the vitality and undermining the health. You lose your appetite for food and what little you eat seems to do no good. Your nerves are un strung, you become weak and ex hausted and finally you are over powered by some chronic disorder which takes you to an untimely grave. Why should you let the grip run until it gets such a hold on you when a few bottles of Dr. Miles’ Nervine would fix you up all right. It is the greatest nerve medicine and health restorer ever known and thousands of grip’s victims are finding in it a safe and sure means of regaining lost strength, vitality. “I found myself with a very weak stomach, and every time I tried to eat I would become nause ated, sometimes belching wind and frequently finding relief only after vomiting. My nerves became affec ted and I was almost blind for sev eral months. Finally I began using Dr. Miles Nervine; and when I had used one bottle I was greatly improved, After taking two more bottles my stomach trouble was entirely gone and I have had nonreturn of the symp toms in over three years. ? J Mrs. L. L. Winters, Gwynneville, Ind.
