build a School of high grade some

educate the rising generation are
those who will hold the balance
of power politically, socially and
religiously. Is it not the truth?
We hope some on« will take

Rev. G. A. Bartlett preached
his contemplated nmssionary ser
mon at the Baptist church last
Sunday morning. His theme was:
i i The Macedonian Cry, V He gave
an epitome of church history giv
ing all agencies due credit for good
accomplished. Mr. Bart lett assert
ed that the Baptist church had
always been a missionary church
and said that he believed William
Carey and his work was the *ub
ject of a prophecy by Isaiah. The
preacher gave it as lus belief that
within fifty years the gospel will
have been fully preached in all
lands and that there will then be
no place on the' earth where
Christianity is not as well *stab
lished as it is to-day in America.
He eloquently portrayed the antic
ipated rapid conversion of the
.world ami expressed the convic
tion, as did Mr. Stilwell on the
previous Sunday, that God has
laid 1 on Christians in the- United
States a great responsibility in
providing true gospel teaching for
the- native inhabitants of .our
JU-'vlv acquired possessions.—Elli
