Howell, was called to the bedside of her sick mother, Mrs Roach, this week. A certain young man, from Talking Rock, was in Jasper, Sun day night, having his voice treat ed. He Fooled the Surgeon. ID Breen, of McFarland T.mn, was down several days last week. He has not forgotten how to blow a horn, nor has he entirely lost sight of his fomer citizeehip of Jasper. He renewed this interest by subscribing for the Progress. The Cool Spring Baptist Church is in a flourishing condition. They have a large Sunday school and have secured the services of Rev. L* T. Padgett, for two Sundays in each month for next year. A good example for other Country churches. The following Jaspermtes at tended the Fair, and visited Atlan ta last week, Sion \V. Edgar, L. J. Darnell, Airs. B. H- and Margarite Simmons, Airs. R. L. McClaim, Jennie Alay Tate, Duggar and Ed gar Wheeier, E. S. Allrecl, Henry Jurrett. Mrs. Waldo Stearns returned Sunday from Atlanta, where she went to have an operation per formed on her eye. She has been suffering for some time from some kind of tumor growing on her eye but we are glad to know tlmt she is relieved. Miss Annie Hobgood and little “Billy” Archer, visited Atlanta last week. The leaves in the forest put on their bright colors in or of the holiday which they are about to take; it is the saddest time of the year, but all nature seem to be decked in her brightest SI.
