The Nelson Masonic lodge in vited the Jasper lodge down to an oyster supper last Sa’utday night. Quite a number from here attended and found not only aa oyster supper with all it's ac cessories, but also a regular ban quet, including sandwiches, cakes and all kinds of fruit, served by the ladies, which was followed by cigars. Their hospitality cannot be excelled, and it was a very pleasant occasion for all. News was received in Jasper this week that “Uncle” Henry Washington had died at the. home of his son. Jim Washington, in Waleska. “Uncle Henry" was one of those old ex-slaves and de rived his name from the fact that his ancestors once belonged ti George Washington. He was ol rather uncertain age but com monly reported to be about out hundred years old. For many years he was a picturesque figure on the streets of Jasper and had the confidence of the white peo ple. About eighteen months ago he moved to Waleska to spend the rest of his days with his sot .
