.. w», sctemi * 31 ro VOL. 39 DID M.S N.G.CONDUCTQR KIllED IN PANAMA News has been received in Jaspei that Mr. Johns Garwood was kill ed on November 28th in a railroad wreck in the Panama Canal Zone. Mr. Garwood was one of the first conductors on this line of railroad, running for eight or ten years while it was still known as the Marietta – North Georgia, and has many rela tives and old friends in this section, His wife was a Miss McCutcheu, of Marietta, who survives him. He is also survived by one daughter, a student in Brenau College, Gaines ville. His body was so badly mangled it will not be brought home. Thomas - Day Pickens county friends of Mr. Craig C. Day, of Knoxville,Tenn., congratulate him upou his mar riage to Miss Catherine Thomas, which occurred in Knoxville on Tuesday, November 20th. Mr. Day is the son of the late Colonel William T. Day of Jasper, and is general manager of the Candora Marble Company, one of the largest marble concerns in Tennessee. Mrs. Day is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George S.
