Mr. Paul Dilbeck and family moved this week to Whitestone, where Mr. Dilbeck is opening a meat market and fancy grocery business, We hate to see them leave Jasper but wish them well in their new home. Miss Mary Stegall, a popular student at Agnes Scott, Decatur, spent the week-end with home folks. Mr. J. H. Hobson and family have moved from their farm near Philadelphia to Talking Rock, where Mr. Hobson will joiu his son M. E. Hobson, in the general mercantile business. Miss Mattye Lindsey has re turned from a visit to her sister, Mrs, Roy Floyd, in Bedford, Ind. When hearings in the election contest were resumed Tuesday, the Chastain faction did not rest t h e i r case, as it had been expected they would do, but held the floor until Thursday. The Long faction will begin of fering evidence Friday- Much time was occupied in re-checking the work of last week and in com paring the challenged list with the tax book, which showed a number of them had paid their taxes• Cash paid for scrap cotton. The men captured were Floyd Hughes and D. C. Sudan, of At lanta. The store of Mr. Walter L. Bryant, of Jerusalem, was dertoy ed Wednesday night by fire of un known origin. The building and stock of goods were totally de stroyed, with a loss estimated at $4,000 and no insurance, A message was received Wed nesday from Miss May Perry an nouncing her safe arrival in New York on her way home from the Baptist Mission Field in Africa.
