OCTOBER 10. 2019 Paper Clover campaign to help 4-H youth nationwide Contributions support 4-H youth with developmental programs Tractor Supply Company continues its mission to sup port youth in their local com munities by launching its fall Paper Clover campaign, a biannual fundraiser in part nership with National 4-H Council to provide scholar ships for 4-H members. The Paper Clover fundraiser provides thou sands of dollars each year to offer opportunities for youth to attend conferences, 4-H camps and other develop mental programs across the nation. This fall, Tractor Sup ply is asking for customers to help them reach the $1 mil lion goal by raising aware ness of the campaign via social media shares of their paper clover donations with #DonateAMillion. To participate in the Fall Paper Clover campaign, Tractor Supply customers and team members can pur chase a paper clover from Oct. 9 through Oct. 20 at stores nationwide. Customers also have the opportunity to donate online when making a purchase at TractorSupply.com. Each donation benefits youth within the state where it was collected, providing scholarships for numerous state level 4-H programs. Fundraising efforts are sourced for programs and events such as visits to the state capitol to meet with the agricultural department, lead ership conferences and camps where attendees can study a range of topics from beekeeping to raising and training animals to forestry. “Tractor Supply stands with 4-H in support of their community-based youth pro grams across the nation,” said Phil Reiter, vice presi dent of national and local marketing at Tractor Supply Company. “Every Paper Clover donation goes toward furthering the education and development of 4-H youth as they explore their skills and interests related to the rural lifestyle and beyond. NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE CITY OF JASPER The Council Members of the City of Jasper have tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.62 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the Public Hearing on this tax increase to be held at City Hall, 200 Burnt Mountain Road, Jasper, GA 30143 on Sep tember 30,2019 at 6:00 PM at a Special Called Meet ing in the Council Chambers. Additional Public Hearings on this tax increase will be heard in the Council Chambers City Hall, 200 Burnt Mountain Road, Jasper, GA 30143 on October 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM and on October 7, 2019 at 5:30 PM. The millage rate will be adopted at a Regular Meeting on October 7, 2019 at 6:00 PM, following the public hearing. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 4.655 mills, an increase of 0.119 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 4.536 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is ap proximately $11.90. IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS CITY NOT INCREASING TAX RATES According to Georgia law, all taxing agencies must advertise a tax increase and hold three public hearings to claim taxes on reassessed properties even if the millage rate remains unchanged as is the case in the City of Jasper. The City of Jasper has tentatively adopted a millage rate equal to last year’s millage rate of 4.655. The millage rate is not being increased in the City of Jasper. The tax rate will be the same for 2019 as it was in 2018.
