By Angela Reinhardt Staff Writer areinhardt@pickensprogress.com Every year we ask a different elementary class how they think Santa gets down the chimney. This year Mrs. Andrea Brooks’ 2nd grade class from Harmony Elementary gave us their theories about the Big Guy’s method on Christmas night. First he will suck in and slide in and will use magic to suck in and he will suck back out. He will lay the presents and suck back out. - Eli Russell It all started on Christmas when Santa was delivering presents. This one chimney was very tight. He pushed and pushed but he couldn’t get down until he got butter and got out! Hooray. The End. - Vera Kate Davis It really is obvious. Ok, first Santa lands on the roof. Then he pressed the side of his nose and he appears in the chimney, but your fireplace has fire it is ok! Santa will feel the heat and he presses his nose again. - Claire Adams I think he uses his magic from Buddy the Elf. Buddy the Elf’s magic is strong magic so he can push Santa through the chimney. - Bellamy Blanton Santa is a nice man! Santa can fit in the chimney! It is far for him. Some are not! Merry Christmas! His elf gave him some butter. He did not come out, so he squeezed and squeezed and squeezed. It did not work. - Natalie Gibbs He has a magical candy can and he can make a fire place appear. He slides down and his magical candy cane can help him up their chimney too! - Gabe Gonzalez Well I think he uses a magic candy cane. First he taps the chimney. Tap! Tap! Tap! Then it stretches wide open. He jumps in and puts the presents under the tree. Last he taps his nose and flies up the chimney. Then taps the chimney. Then it goes back to normal size and flies away! The End. - Patrick Griffin It is magic! How does he get down the chimney with gifts? I think he goes with his gifts to slow him down so he can get down safely. - Braxton Lawson I think Santa goes down the chimney with a candy cane, not just any candy cane, a magic one! So, what he does is taps the chim ney top and it makes it wider.
