city Friday and is now' in positon
at the bank. Th Jdoor is of pure

burglar and fireproof. Burglar
alarms are attached to every lock
on the door and nc one can enter
without making a loud noise.
Elegant trimmings, paintings and
fixtures make the door the pretti
est ever seen. Mr. Humphrey,
the popular cashier of this bank,
states that in a few' weeks a mar
ble front will be put into the
building which will add greatly
to the already handsome office.

Mr. F. Marvin Stephens, the
clever and popular member of the
J. C. Collier Cos., left last Friday
for a weeks vacation at Indian
Springs. He has been sticking
closely to business and well de
serves his rest. His many friends
hope he will greatly enjoy him
self while there.

Mr. Warren R. Woodward,
book-keeper of the Citizens Bank
of Barnesville, left Monday for
Indian Springs where he will
spend several days enjoying a
rest. The officials of this bank
have been working very hard
for the past mouth and ho and ittbt
a vacation is appreciated and en
joyed by them very much.

Mr. Holly Holmes who is now
with J. F. Stallings, has accepted
a position with J. M. Reeves and
will change the first of September.
Mr. Holmes is a sterling young
man and Mr. Reeves should be

goods department of the firm of
S. M. Marshburn, where she will
be glad to see her many friends.

Mr. S. B. Burr Jr., lias just had
his house on Thomaston street
painted which adds much to the
already beautiful home. While
Mr. Burr does not reside here, he
believes in making things look up
to-date and nothing makes a
house look better than anew coat
of paint. Mr. Burr is traveling
representative for the James Meyer
Buggy Company, but he is spend
ing sometime in the city on a
vacation.

Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Stafford
left Monday night for Baltimore
and New York city. Mr. Staf
ford goes to buy the fall goods for
the firm of J. W. Stafford & Sons
and states that he will make a very
large purchase as everything points
to a large trade here this fall. Mr.
Stafford is an experienced buyer
and as he has made several trips
east there is no doubt that he will
meet with as much success on this
trip as in the past.

Mr. J. T. White, the popular
drummer who lias been traveling
for A. B. Small Ac Cos., of Macon,
lias accepted a position with the
well known shoe firm of J. K.
Orr A* Cos., of Atlanta. Mr. White
is one of the best salesman on the
roatl and the firm that has secured
his services should be congratulat
ed. Mr. White will reside in
Barnesville although his territory
is in the state of Alabama.

accepted a position with S. M.
Marshburn, where he will be glad
to serve his fiiends and the pub

Several hales of new cotton have
been brought to Barnesville in the
past week! The cotton is opening
very fast and a large number of
bales will be weighed in August.
