Miss Nettie Summers, a charming young lady, of Barnesville, who has been visiting her amt, Mrs. W. R. Benson, returned home yesterday. Baker, of Bike county, was in the city yester day, accornpunied by his little soil, Master Oscar Fleming Baker, r.ho is a true little Democrat and cannot be changed from his faith in the party. He is one of the most remarkably bright children of his age that we ha/e ever known. Prof. R. D. McDowell is in thecity and his tight foot isdecoratc-d with a handsomely embroidered slipper, presumably the work of some of his numerous fair friends. Just why it is so adorned can be explained bv saying that a few evenings ago while on bis return home after the electric fcghts were out, he tried to remove a seven thousand pound stone from his path which the Odd Fellows intend ed using on their new building- The stone is all right, but tbe toe is still sore. ANOTHER PARTY AT Lib SETS. Mr. and Mrs. J. <j. Collier, Mis ses Mitt-ie Rose, Tiny Bloodwortb, Bertie Blalock, Lula Whittle aod Mr. Elmo Adams are at Lifsevs this week enjoying a weeks recreation. Mr. Elder claims that one man can easeily fill both positions and the new ordinance would save to tbe towD S4OO in salary. The ordi nance goes over to the next regular meeting, when it will probably be passed. AN ELEGANT VICTORIA. The elegant and beuutiful victoria owned by Mr. George E.
