OLDEST GEORGIA MASON, A communication from Hunts ville, Ala., to the Atlanta News gives honor to Capt. G. T. Me* Laurine of that city ns being the oldest Mason of his age in the I South. This declaration was also made last year, and remained un challenged. He became a member of the order at Lvnnville, Tenn-, i in 1858, making him a Mason of 48 years. A statement from Major I>. R. Folsom of Eastman proves that: the Alabama brother has not been dividing time as long as he has by I ten years. Major Folsom says: “Capt. McLaurine is mistaken, for he is not the oldest by ten years. Yes, lam now 82 years of age, and was made a Mason in the Hamilton, Ga., Lodge F. & A. M. in 1848, and two years later took the Chapter degrees; so you see \ I have been a Royal Arch Mason I longer than Capt. McLaurine has been a Blue Lodge Mason.” Verily the Major is reaping the | reward of a well-spent life. But we hope to behold him many years! yet, clothed in white or m scarlet —a living exponent of symbolic and capitular Masonry. THE JURY LIST.
