RESOLUTIONS ()f the Mt. Vernon IJapt ist Church. The grim Angel of Dentil visited ItlieMt. Vernon Baptist Church Mav 20lh, and with short warning I - j bore away the spirit of Sister! Sonic Kent, wife of Pro. \\ . 1!. Kent. This again calls to our minds the fact that, in the life of ; {each and every one some days! must be dark and dreary. Sister K<*nt was born May 28. 1875, and joined the Baptist; {church at Betbabara at the age of i twelve, her membership remain ing there until after her marriage, j when she became a member with us. Wo miss her smiling face and generous hospitality. Strangers she turned not away, but was ever ready to welcome them within her home. The sick she visited with a helping hand, and admin istered willingly to their needs She was in the bloom of young womanhood, when life held so many charms; but seemed per fectly resigned to the will of the j | Lord and when called went with- j out a murmur. We hope to meet { j Sister Kent in a brighter and bot lter world where trials and sorrows! jean never come. In her death we] 1 have lost one of our most cheer-! fill members, therefore, be it Resolved Ist, That we join her { family in lamenting her death, and extend to them our profound sympathy m their bereavement. 2d, That we dedicate a page of the minutes of our church to her memory and t hat these resolutions i be written thereon. thl, That we request The Mont j gomory Monitor and The Christian ! Index to publish t hese resolutions. Ith, That the family of the de ceased be furnished with a copy of t hose resolutions. Respect fully submitted, Mrs. C. W. Fox, M rs. 15. E. H iggs, I/. C.
